Who wants my vote?.It is on offer, yes, your party can have my vote, and, in Scotland, where I live, the next election, on May 3rd, is getting very close.

Once it was easy. As a young man, O.K., it was a few years ago, I lived in Worthing, first chance to vote, choices were, Conservative, possibly for the rich, Labour, possibly for the poor, I was neither "rich" or "poor", so, that left me with just one option, Liberal. To me, voting seemed very simple.

To be quite honest, whatever happened didn't seem to change my life very much, if at all. I could still buy Elvis Presley records, vinyl 78s, I could still buy cigarettes, and smoke them where I liked, I could still afford to meet my girlfriend inside the cinema, I could use the words that I wanted to. Of course, one day I grew up.

At the moment of writing this I have a choice on May 3rd, it is not what you would call a limited choice because, offering me great things in exchange for my vote, are, (1) Labour, (2) Conservative, (3) lib-Dem's, (4) SSP, (5) SNP, (6) Pensioners Party, (7)Greens, (8) the New SSP, (9) The New Party, (10) Communists, and (with apologies to any left out ) sundry odds and ends. What makes you think that there is something in this job as a MSP ( Member of The Scottish Parliament )that makes it worth having?.

How many tons of paper will be required to inform us of their "Manifesto's"?.

And there is the problem, I don't want to know what they "plan" to do for me, what I want to know is, "What have you done in the last four years?". "What have you achieved?". A manifesto is only as good as the circumstances are at this present time, circumstances can change tomorrow.

An employer wants to know what you HAVE done, you will be employed, or not, on the strength of your CV.
