I made a comment on the blog, http://truepathfinder.blog.co.uk/2007/11/01/p3230139#c5094863 "Change of mood" and "jenray's" reply made me think.
I said, words to the effect, "I think that you are tough...", jenray commented, "Why do you think that....". Question, Why do I think that?
How do we really know the "friend" that we are in contact with through a blog, we look at their profile, we read a few of their posts, we look at their interests and gather a "feeling" that we know them That's my sort of person, or not.
But, what if we are wrong, our comments, based on we we think we know may be unintentionally hurtful, they may be offensive to our "friend" because of reasons that are personal and private.
Since joining this blog I have been selective in inviting friends and accepting them, mainly because it would put too much pressure on me to read, or scan, their posts, and I would feel it wrong not to do so, have I offended anyone by denying friendship? I don't know the answer to that, Have I sent anyone away wondering why they were rejected? I hope not.
I am pretty sure that I did not offend jenray with my comments, I got the impression that she can handle her life better than most, not the type that collapses at the first sign of a problem so I say it as I see it.
Any other thoughts about this subject? Say it as you see it.
