Buckie, Scotland, is about 230 miles north of Glasgow and this is the first view that we had of the town. When we left Glasgow the outside temperature showed 12 degrees by the time that we reached Buckie it had dropped to 5 degrees.

This is the hotel where we stayed, on the main road between Fochabers and Buckie, and dates back to the early 18th century, the skies were blue. The chefs, "Venison and Mushroom" pie is fantabulous.

The water is the North sea, today it is at peace unlike the day that we arrived when waves were breaking over the sea wall that surrounds the harbour.

Beautiful place, not far from me at all! The coast is so great I even saw dolphins at nearby Cullen (home of Cullen Skink). Hope you enjoyed it.

Hiya, TJMum, yes, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, actually it wasn't long enough, but, we will be back soon, Hazel was born in Buckie and it was the first time back for her in over 30 years. not particularly fond of Cullen Skink but she makes it, so I eat it.

I was gonna say why go somewhere so cold, but those views make it worth the trip, and I guess revisiting your old haunts can be pleasurable too

The Mills looks exactly like this place we've stopped to to eat in Romania. The construction was the same and they even had those rustic wheels outside. The tables and chairs were tree trunks and that made us feel very good there. Such innovating people. Too bad they had a plumbing emergency and we were nicely asked to leave the place.
