I find that there are very many fine poets among the members of blog.uk and make a point of following their posts.
From early school days I remember listening to the way that the poet had weaved the poem with words that rhymed and since then many happy, quiet hours have found me with a variety of poetry books.
Of all the many types of poems that have been written my favourite has been the "sadder" type and my favourite amongst those is the little known, "Nelson's farewell to his grandmother"
"NELSON'S FAREWELL TO HIS GRANDMOTHER"
Bye-Bye Granny.

I remeber at school doing a Rabbie Burns Project and an Urban Myth came true.

When Campbell was asked to read or recite his Rabbie Burns ditty.
"Aye Drive roon the toon in ma wee red motor.
Up and doon, roon an roon in ma wee red motor".
In retrospect this shows that the inspired genius of Burns in his ability like Leonardo Da Vinci to foresee not only the motor vehicle but a, "wee red wan" at that!
Personally I like Tam o' Shanter....
Then again Cock up your Beaver always raises an eyebrow.
