Yes, not a bigger sale, actually quite a small one. We saw the add, "Antiques and Crafts sale. Valuations on site", Municipal Building, Biggar. Ah, we thought, here is a Saturday outing for us, only about 35 miles away, to be honest it seemed more than that, I got lost down a farm track, she thought that I had done it on purpose, I said, I only do that when it's dark.

It turned out good, Hazel took an 1895 Doulton statuette of a female roman warrior, she bought it a couple of years ago for £200, the expert valued it at between £600 and £800 and maybe more if two bidders were wanting it. Result for her. They reckoned that my silver snuff box was worth about £40. Huh, what do experts know.

Stopped on the way home at a cemetery in Lanark, we just like looking around at the grave stones, many were well worn away but we did spot one from 1752. There was a church in the grounds,

The church and grounds are being looked after beautifully by South Lanarkshire Council, and we will return again when we have more time.
